“Manufacturers
can enhance their market opportunities in Europe with the Blue Angel
eco-label,
so we’re very pleased to be able to support our customers in extending
their
reach,” says Raja Tannous, co-founder and
laboratory director for Berkeley
Analytical. “We not only perform the necessary
VOC emission
testing, but we can also guide manufacturers through the documentation
process.”
The Blue
Angel mark is only awarded to products that exceed legal requirements
with
respect to their use and emissions of harmful substances. The label
printed on
the product packaging prominently displays the note “Protects health
because
low in harmful substances and emissions.”
Berkeley
Analytical earned accreditation by
successfully completing a rigorous inter-laboratory VOC emission study
involving 38 participants.
Blue
Angel, created in 1978, is the
oldest environment-related label in the world. It is supported by the
German
government for the purpose of better informing consumers regarding the
health
and environmental impacts of the products and services they purchase.
The label
is only awarded to about the top 20% products on the market from a
specific
group.
